Product Spotlight: Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes Review and Swatches

Hello lovelies!

I'm here to quickly share a product spotlight review of the Wet N Wild Color Icon eyeshadow palettes.
I picked these up this month when Walgreens was having there 50% off Wet N Wild products deal so I saved a lot of money! :)

I first heard about these shadows from a blog, which I follow regularly, called Nouveau Cheap. The author of that blog raved about these shadows and what great quality they were. I decided to go out and take advantage of the 50% off Wet N Wild products deal.

I posted a video briefly mentioning these eyeshadows a couple days ago, but I never had the chance to take photos and capture some swatches of the shadows. Most of the shadows are excellent in pigmentation. They have a good amount of fallout though so be careful when using them. Make sure to brush of the fallout and tap the excess shadow off your brush. The trios and the 6-pan palettes come with one sponge tip applicator and a mini brush (which I don't use). Some of the matte shadows I find are chalky, but you can easily work with them to fit your needs.

I don't think these shadows beat my Urban Decay and MAC shadows, but for the price, they are absolutely wonderful to work with! They are perfect for the on-the-go girl who is on a budget. :) They also have more selections in colors with lots of blues and greens, but I personally don't enjoy wearing blues and greens since I feel like they don't match my skin tone well.

Here are the colors and palettes that I currently own and the swatches (which I did not use any base or primer underneath them):

Eyeshadow Single in Nutty (252BP)
Nice taupe color. Lots of product in one single (1.7 g)
Retail Price: $1.99

Eyeshadow Trio in Walking on Eggshells (380B)
Gorgeous combination of colors. Perfect for a very light and simple look.
Comes with a nice brow highlight.
No matte colors. All have a slight frost to them.
Retail Price: $3.99

Eyeshadow Trio in Knock on Wood (383B)
Absolutely gorgeous colors. Perfect for either simple or more smokey looks.
I find this trio to fit my skin tone well since I love colors like the last plum color, which is not that deep of a color but easily can be layered to create a more deep color.
Retail Price: $3.99

Swatches. I didn't use any base underneath these shadows and everything was applied with one swipe.
I love these neutral shadows. Click on the photo to enlarge.

6-pan Eyeshadow Palette in Greed (246)
This was my least favorite palette from the Wet N Wild purchases I made.
I find the color selections to be somewhat random, especially with that orange-ish color on the second left. The top two colors on the right are not very pigmented at all.
I was most disappointed with the first shadow on the right. I just couldn't get any color and I tried working with it in different ways. The good thing is, the bottom two colors are extremely pigmented. Left shadows are all matte and the right shadows are all with shimmer.
I love the matte black shadow!
Retail Price: $4.99

Swatches. Really not a big fan of this palette.

6-pan Eyeshadow Palette in Vanity (249)
Definitely a fantastic palette for those of us who love using neutral shadows. This palette is perfect smokey, natural, etc. looks. The pigmentation is excellent and comes with a frosty and matte highlight shades. All 6-pan shadow palettes come with 3 matte shades and 3 frosty/shimmer shades. I find that the light matte shades are slightly chalky, but it's okay. I also like how there is a good amount of product for each shades in these palettes.
Retail Price: $4.99

I feel like the swatches don't do these shadows any justice! >.<

6-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Lust (248)
By far my favorite palette and Wet N Wild product I own!
This palette has the most gorgeous shades of purples and pinks. I also love the sheen that the frosty shadows have. They are so beautiful! The gunmetal color (second shadow on the right) is absolutely lovely. The last color on the right is supposedly a dupe of MAC's Beautymark eyeshadow.
The light pink shadows are chalky as well, but a little goes a long way. I find that there is a lot of fallout with these shadows so be careful!
Retail Price: $4.99

Swatches! I love this palette so much that I created a tutorial using this palette.

If you haven't done so, please check it out! :)
I also filmed a quick video describing these shadows as well.
I will post both videos on this post.

Fyi...
I heard that Wet N Wild have 8-pan palettes filled with new colors on the way and they are said to be only $4.99! You will be able to find them in your local Walgreens and Walmart. I hear that they are not out at all the Walgreens and Walmarts out there. I am waiting patiently for these palettes to be available around me.
Let me know if you've seen these palettes yet! I'm so curious!
